Mango Airlines is a state-owned South African airline based at OR Tambo International Airport near Johannesburg. It is a subsidiary of South African Airways. Mango Airlines offers its passenger on-board entertainment through a programme called Mango TV. As this is a low-cost airline, food and drinks are not included in the ticket price but it may, however, be purchased during the flight.
The airline also offers its passengers with in-flight entertainment such as Wi-Fi access which is categorised in pricing packages that are available to suit the passenger’s needs. Reading material is also available. It includes the Mango Juice magazine which is Mango’s monthly publication and is available free to all passengers.
The airline contains fuel efficient Boeing 737-800 aircrafts and each aircraft is able to seat 186 passengers. The aircrafts are serviced and maintained by SAA Technical to ensure that all Mango’s aircrafts are safe and reliable.
The baggage allowances as set out by Mango Airlines are as follows:
- Adult passengers have a baggage allowance of 20kg
- Infants have a baggage allowance of 10kg
The check in for passengers flying with Mango Airlines must be done at least an hour before the scheduled departure time. Alternatively, passengers can use the online check in service to select and book their seat before the flight. Self-service check in kiosks is also available at most South African airports.
