Swiss Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Switzerland operating scheduled flights to areas in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia. The airlines main hub is Zurich Airport. The airline was established in 2002 after the bankruptcy of Swissair, which was Switzerland’s former flag carrier. The baggage allowances as set out by Swiss Airlines are as follows:
- Economy Class – Passengers are allowed one piece of checked baggage that does not exceed the weight limit of 23kg
- Business Class – Passengers are allowed two pieces of checked baggage that does not exceed the weight limit of 32kg
- First Class – Passengers are allowed three pieces of checked baggage that does not exceed the weight limit of 32kg
Passengers travelling in Economy Class are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage on the flight at no extra cost. The maximum weight of the carry-on baggage may not exceed the weight limit of 8kg.
Passengers travelling in Business Class or First Class are allowed two pieces of carry-on baggage that may not exceed the weight limit of 8kg.
For international flights via Swiss Airlines, the check-in counters close 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight.
